Alice is a partner in the litigation department and has more than 20 years of experience in litigation. She handles a wide variety of complex litigation, including trademark, copyright, and false advertising, franchisor/franchisee, unfair business practices, and other commercial disputes. She has tried to jury lawsuits in North Carolina and other states in both state and federal courts. She also routinely handles proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Alice is actively involved in the International Trademark Association (INTA), the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Litigation, and the Carolina Patent Trademark and Copyright Law Association.
Representative Matters
Representation of owners of entertainment and color trademarks in various civil actions throughout United States to enforce marks.
Prosecution of false advertising claim in architecture/engineering design industry.
Multi-district defense of trademark, copyright, and unfair trade claims in retail gift industry.
Defense of copyright claims in ornamental concrete industry.
Representation of national retail franchisor in dispute with franchisee regarding claims of fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of contract, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.
