Barbara joined Parkway Properties, Inc. in April 1998 with over thirty years of experience. As Vice President of Risk Management, Barbara is responsible for the procurement of insurance coverage (other than employee benefits of health, life, etc.), claims processing, staff training in the area of safety and awareness of insurance risks. Barbara is a Certified Risk Professional and is also a licensed Mississippi Resident Agent to write life and health insurance.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Barbara came to Mississippi in 1984. She began her career in Jackson as the Director of Financial Aid for two proprietary schools. In August 1990, Barbara joined Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi. Throughout her eight year tenure she was promoted to the following positions ~ Project Manager, Administrative Director of the Caring Program for Children for Mississippi and Louisiana, Community Service Representative/ Project Coordinator, Purchasing Agent and Customer Relations Manager. She also served as board president of The Employee Plan Federal Credit Union from 1993 to 1996. |
