Previously, Young was vice president and business director, Oxygenated & Urethane Chemicals. In this position, he had strategic and P&L responsibility for Lyondell�s propylene oxide, propylene glycols, ethylene oxide, ethylene glycols, toluene diisocyanate and deicers businesses on a global basis.
Young was vice president and business director, Fuels & Methanol, for Lyondell from August 1998 to October 2003. He had responsibility for Lyondell�s MTBE, olefin fuels and methanol businesses on a global basis, with extensive involvement in government relations activities.
Young began his career with ARCO Chemical in 1980 as a process engineer at the Channelview, Texas, facility. He subsequently moved to various positions in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Analysis, Raw Material Supply, Sales and Marketing.
Young received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston in 1980, graduating cum laude. |
