David L. Barclay is President for the West Operating Region of Centex Homes. Mr. Barclay joined Centex in 1987, spending two years as a division director of land acquisition and two years as a project manager for the South Florida Division. In 1991 he founded and became the Division President for the company�s Palm Beach Division. In 1996, he was named President of the Northern California Division and in 2002 was promoted to Executive Vice President for the West Coast Region, which included 11 west coast divisions spanning from Seattle to San Diego. He was promoted to his current position in February 2006. Prior to joining Centex, Mr. Barclay was the director of construction for the Babcock Company from 1985 to 1987. Two years before that, he was a project manager for K. Hovnanian Company. Mr. Barclay began his work life as a project engineer for Gee & Jensen Engineers from 1978 to 1983. Mr. Barclay has extensive experience in residential real estate development and homebuilding and in the development of a wide range of mixed-use and master planned communities. He has been involved in numerous joint ventures to develop large scale and complex projects, including the redevelopment of several military bases. Mr. Barclay is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering and received his MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He is a licensed professional engineer and a registered general contractor. |
