David Perkins is Chief Technical Officer for Active Power and heads the company�s industry-leading technical innovation efforts. He was a key contributor to Active Power�s commercialization of the first battery-free flywheel-based DC and UPS products.
Prior to joining Active Power in 1996 David was a Research Engineer with The University of Texas at Austin Center for Electromechanics and was involved in numerous electric machine development projects for military and commercial research contracts. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and ASTM International and is a member of ASTM Committee A01 on Steels and Subcommittee A01.06 on Steel Forgings. He currently holds five patents with several patents pending.
David holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. |
