Gary Granik is one of five corporate partners with principal responsibility for the ongoing representation of more than 400 investment companies or their independent board members, as well as unregistered pooled investment vehicles, investment advisers and fund administrators.
Mr. Granik�s practice focuses on investment adviser and investment company regulation. He has acted as both fund counsel and underwriters� counsel in numerous closed-end fund products on behalf of leading institutional clients, including various country and regional equity funds, U.S. and international high-yield funds and leveraged municipal funds. Mr. Granik has participated in the establishment of various domestic and offshore private fund vehicles, as well as one of the first Irish UCITS. He has also acted in an ongoing role counseling the sponsors of unit investment trusts.
He represents several domestic and international institutional money managers and has been involved in the formulation of new operational guidelines for non-U.S. advisers seeking access to the U.S. market. His work has included counseling funds and asset managers on regulatory compliance matters, the development of structured finance products and derivative instruments utilizing investment company vehicles, and the negotiation of numerous private placements for acquisition by investment companies.
