Kevin P. Dougherty is the President of Sun Life Global Investments (SLGI). In this role, he is responsible for the company's interests in its Affiliated Asset Management companies in North America, as well as overseeing its third-party Asset Management platform, which together represent approximately $400 Billion of Assets Under Management. Sun Life Global Investments is focused on the evolution of the asset management businesses underlying its global operations, and accelerating the company's continuing growth in Wealth Management. He assumed this role in January 2008.
Mr. Dougherty joined Sun Life Financial in 1994 as Vice-President, Group Marketing & Sales. He was appointed Vice-President, Group Insurance in 1996, Vice-President, Group Retirement Services in 2001, and was subsequently appointed Executive Vice-President of Sun Life Financial�s Canadian Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services businesses in 2004.
From mid 2004-2007 Mr. Dougherty led Sun Life Financial�s Canadian business operations as President, Sun Life Financial Canada. During this time Mr. Dougherty focused on a number of key strategic initiatives including: strengthening the Career Sales Force model, building third-party Retail distribution, and driving increased collaboration across businesses, resulting in the development of the company's unique Total Benefits offering and Roll-over businesses.
Mr. Dougherty is the Chairman of the National Quality Institute�s Board of Governors, and serves on the Boards on a number of companies, including the MFS Corporate Board, McLean Budden, and CI Income Fund. He is an active member of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and the United Way of Greater Toronto.
Mr. Dougherty holds an MBA (International) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. |
