Role: As Director of Publications, Laura is primarily responsible for designing, writing, and delivering the documentation and online help that accompany the ACH and GOLDNET product lines. In this role, she is involved in the development of new and updated applications from the specification stage to release and implementation. She serves as editor and proofreader for additional materials related to these products as well as for corporate materials. Laura also edits and publishes the quarterly Goldleaf Exchange newsletter. Background: From an early age, Laura has had an interest in writing, an appreciation for both the inventive process and the final creation. While working on her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English, she conducted one-on-one tutorials, writing workshops, and computer orientations through the universitys English Department. Her last year of study was spent as an exchange student in England where she attended classes and co-authored a practical handbook for students from her university who planned to study abroad. After returning home, Laura turned her attention from literary scholarship and travel writing to professional and technical communication. She began working at Goldleaf Technologies in the summer of 1993. In addition to the documents she has created and fostered throughout her tenure at Goldleaf, Laura has done freelance editing projects, taught freshman composition at the university level, published a monthly newsletter for a womens organization, and authored educational materials for teaching software. |
