Leah Johnson became Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs in January 2007. In this role, she is responsible for all external and internal communications, communications strategy, media relations, Citi-wide publications and productions, and issues management. She works closely with senior management to develop and implement an integrated communications strategy that unifies key messages across the businesses and geographies and supports the company�s growth objectives. She is a member of Citi's Management and Operating Committees.
Ms. Johnson joined Citi in November 1999 as Director of Public Affairs. She was responsible for managing the external communications activities for the company on a global basis and served as the primary spokesperson on issues affecting the franchise.
Prior to joining Citi, Ms. Johnson was vice president of corporate communications at Standard and Poor�s. She managed internal and external communications and developed Standard & Poor�s charitable giving program. She joined Standard and Poor�s Ratings Services in 1997 as director of global ratings development and general manager of communications. She also served on Standard & Poor�s executive management committee.
In 1992, Ms. Johnson became the deputy communications director for the Clinton/Gore New York State Coordinated Campaign. She was appointed press secretary to Mayor David Dinkins� 1993 reelection campaign and in 1994, became the communications director for the New York City Comptroller. Previously, in 1988, she joined the communications team at Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
Ms. Johnson began her career in communications at the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, where she worked as director of public affairs for Kings County Hospital Center.
A graduate of Harvard College, Ms. Johnson holds a B.A. in Psychology. She is a member of the Harvard Club of New York�s Schools Committee.
