Martha Barss is responsible for the overall design, development, implementation and management of client programs and initiatives, as well as management responsibilities of Creative Operations, Production and Studio. Martha and her team are responsible for ensuring client programs remain on strategy and are deftly managed to meet all budget and success requirements both in strengthening relationships between brands and their consumer, channel and employee audiences, as well as generating significant return on investment for clients. Since joining Carlson in 1992, Martha has served in a variety of executive positions. She was a key contributor in the development, implementation and launch of the VIA Preference Reward Program, the TD Visa Gold Travel Card and the successful transition of the RBC Rewards Program. Her skills in operations management, budget control, relationship marketing, sales and promotions have also benefited clients including Scotiabank, General Motors, Pfizer, Nortel Networks, Whirlpool Corporation, BMO Bank of Montreal, Vancity, Ford of Canada and American Express. Before joining Carlson Marketing, Martha spent several years working with Coca-Cola Ltd. on behalf of the diet Coke brand, managing the live stage version of the Wheel of Fortune game show at key Canadian summer exhibitions. That soon transpired into an opportunity with the Television Quatre Saisons Network to assist in the production of the French version of Wheel of Fortune, La Roue Chanceuse. Prior to this, Martha spent three years working for a major Canadian financial organization. Martha is currently a member of the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) and regularly serves on the judging panel of the CMA awards. She also sits on the Advisory Committee at George Brown College, contributing to the development of its marketing management programs. Martha is also a member of Carlson Marketing Canada�s Executive Committee. |
