Michael Ironside joined AMRI in 1998. Mike received his Honours Chemistry (First Class) degree from Dundee University in Angus, Scotland in 1986. He then obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1989 from Dundee University under the direction of Dr. A.W. Murray. His doctoral work was in the area of applications of phosphine-oxide derived methoxy-dienes in organic synthesis. Mike's previously worked at ChiRex and Glaxo Wellcome Operations as a chemical development chemist. He came to AMRI from Hovione Soc. Qu�mica, where he was responsible for the scale-up to pilot scale of GMP custom synthesis projects and the safe, environmentally friendly operation of a pilot plant facility. Mike is proud of his scale-up work on Naratriptan, 3TC, Alosetron and Viracept. Mike has also received multiple publications. |
