Michael D. Mangan joined Black & Decker as Vice President Investor Relations in November 1999 and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Black & Decker Corporation in January 2000. In 2006, he was given responsibility for the Fastening and Fastening Systems segment in addition to his duties as chief financial officer.
Previously, Mr. Mangan had been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Ryland Group, Inc., a $2 billion national homebuilding and financial services company, since November 1994. Prior to his association with Ryland, he had been employed from 1981 to 1994 by General Motors Corporation and its subsidiary, General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), in a series of positions involving strategic and business planning, corporate finance and investments, new business activities, internal control, and information systems. At the time he left General Motors, he was Group Chief Financial Officer and a member of the board of directors of GMAC Mortgage Corporation.
Mr. Mangan earned an M.B.A. degree from Dartmouth College�s Amos Tuck School of Business Administration and also holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from the General Motors Institute. He is a member of the board of directors of McCormick & Company, Inc. and a member of the board of directors and executive committee of Catholic Charities, Inc. in Baltimore. |
