Michael L. Millenson is the author of the critically acclaimed Demanding Medical Excellence: Doctors and Accountability in the Information Age (University of Chicago Press). He is both an independent consultant and the Mervin Shalowitz, MD Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University�s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. From 1996 to 2001, Millenson was a principal in the health care consulting practice of William M. Mercer, Inc. From 1994 to 1996, he was a visiting scholar at Northwestern, where he wrote his book under an Investigator Award in Health Policy Research from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Prior to that, as a long-time reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Millenson was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize three times. Millenson is a member of the National Commission for Quality Long-term Care and on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Medical Quality and Quality and Safety in Health Care. |
