A seasoned writer and creative director, Michael Kooi writes across all of the firm's disciplines, developing polished public relations, marketing, advertising, and editorial pieces in support of Weiser Group clients. He also serves as the firm's in-house media planner and webmaster.
Since joining the firm in 1997, Mr. Kooi has written and produced a wide variety of editorial pieces and creative materials. Most recently, he co-authored internationally-recognized annual reports for FEMSA (NYSE: FMX) and Vitro (NYSE: VTO), and provided copywriting for FEMSA�s redesigned website. In addition, his recent op-ed pieces on behalf of NVCA and Novak Biddle Venture Partners have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and Venture Capital Journal, among other publications.
When he isn't developing ad campaigns or collateral, Michael assists the firm's senior members in message development, brand positioning, and other high-level communications initiatives. His editorial work on behalf of Weiser clients has appeared in The Wall Street Journal and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as well as in numerous trade magazines.
Michael holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois, where he wrote a weekly humor column for the Daily Illini as a sophomore. His latest essay, "The Smallest Gesture," appeared recently in the Minneapolis-based literary magazine, Distinctly Human. |
