Miguel Rivera was appointed President of Nextel Peru in January 2000. Prior to joining Nextel Rivera was General Manager of the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) where he worked from 1998 to 1999.
Mr. Rivera has a vast experience in top management for the Peruvian and international markets. From October 1996 to March 1998 he served as General Manager of IBM's Latin American manufacturing industry based in Sao Paulo Brazil. He also served as IBM's President in Bolivia Dominican Republic and Colombia.
Mr. Rivera has also held the positions of director for the American Chamber of Commerce C�mara Colombiana de Inform�tica y Telecomunicaciones (Colombian Chamber of Information and Telecommunication Systems) SIGMA Asociaci�n Nacional de Industriales de Bogot� (National Industrialists' Association of Bogot�) ANDI (National Association of Advertisers) IPAE Peru 2021 Adepsep and many other institutions.
Miguel Rivera is an executive with a long international record. He holds a degree in Economic Engineering from one of the most prestigious Peruvian universities Universidad Nacional de Ingenier�a (UNI) [National Engineering University] as well as several diplomas in Business Management. He is fluent in both English and Portuguese and has wide experience in sales business planning human resources marketing and finance.
