Mr. Barbarine is a senior investment banker with over fifteen years of experience in the field of corporate finance for financial institutions. As a senior member of Hovde Financial�s investment banking team, he is responsible for strategic implementation and supervises the southeast team of investment bankers on a daily basis. In addition, Mr. Barbarine is primarily responsible for the firm�s Florida community bank and thrift practice and the super-community and regional financial institution practice in the southeastern United States.
Mr. Barbarine advises community banks and thrifts on their strategic options. He provides managements and boards of directors with extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, including an understanding of the acquisition strategies of regional and super-regional banks. He is also experienced in the management and strategic positioning of financial institutions and served as a member of the board of directors of a community bank in California.
He has served institutions in structuring and negotiating mergers, acquisitions, sale assignments, branch acquisitions and divestitures, and raising capital. In addition, Mr. Barbarine has worked with acquirers of failed banks and thrifts in transactions with the RTC and the FDIC.
Prior to joining Hovde Financial, Mr. Barbarine was a member of the Investment Banking Department with what is today Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York. He served in the Financial Institutions Group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and the underwriting of equity and debt securities for money center and super-regional banks.
He is also licensed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a registered representative. Mr. Barbarine is married and resides in both Palm Beach, Florida and Washington, D.C. |
