As General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for MasterCard International, Noah J. Hanft is responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of the company�s global operations. He supervises a team of lawyers and professionals based around the world and is a member of the MasterCard Policy Committee. He is also MasterCard's Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for government affairs and public policy.
Mr. Hanft�s tenure in MasterCard began in 1984. Six years later, he left MasterCard to become senior vice president and assistant general counsel at AT&T Universal Card Services, where he successfully defended numerous legal and regulatory challenges initiated against AT&T�s start-up credit card operation. He rejoined MasterCard in 1993 as senior vice president, U.S. counsel, and assistant general counsel.
Prior to 1984, Mr. Hanft was associated with the intellectual property law firm of Ladas & Parry in New York. He began his legal career as a trial attorney in the criminal defense division of the Legal Aid Society.
Mr. Hanft has a master of laws degree in trade regulations from New York University School of Law, a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Brooklyn Law School, and a bachelor�s degree from American University, School of Government and Public Administration.
Mr. Hanft serves on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society. |
