Pierre Arcand was appointed President of Qu�bec Radio for Corus Entertainment in July 2002.
Mr. Arcand has 21 years of radio experience. He began his career as an announcer and journalist in Montr�al. In 1978, Arcand was appointed News Director of CKAC and the T�l�m�dia network where he managed a staff of 40 journalists, reporters and correspondents. Mr. Arcand was promoted to President and General Manager of CKAC in 1984 and in 1985, he was appointed Vice President of the T�l�m�dia AM Group.
Mr. Arcand became Senior Vice President of T�l�m�dia in 1985, a position he held until 1988. He then became co-owner of CIQC and CFQR and T�l�m�dia became M�trom�dia. In 1992, M�trom�dia acquired radio stations CKVL and CKOI; CIEL and CIME-FM were added in 1998.
Corus Entertainment purchased 29.9% of M�trom�dia on August 30, 2000 and on January 26, 2001, received CRTC approval to purchase the remaining 70.1%.
