Dr. Vasa is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Vasa completed her undergraduate training at Colby College and received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1991. She completed an internal medicine fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and her adult and child psychiatry training training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Vasa is the Medical Director of the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. Her primary specialty includes the assessment and treatment of child and adolescent anxiety disorders. Dr. Vasa is actively involved in Maryland Regional Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Research Summary:
Dr. Vasa�s primary research interest relates to the neurobiology of pediatric anxiety disorders. She has published several articles on the risk factors for anxiety after traumatic brain injury and is now pursuing research on the cognitive correlates of childhood anxiety disorders in both children with and without brain injury. |
