Sara Troy Machir is Vice President for Communications and Investor Relations with Star Scientific, Inc. Ms. Machir joined the company in December 2000, after serving as a consultant to Star on external communications. She served as the company�s Communications Director from 2001 to 2003. Prior to 2000, Ms. Machir consulted, primarily in association with Alexander and Associates, Washington, DC. on strategic management issues for a variety of public companies. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, Washington, DC, with a degree in Languages and International Business.
Ms. Machir has been a member of the board of trustees of Children�s Hospital in Washington, DC since 1986, and served a chair of that board from 2001-2004. She currently is a member of the Children�s National Medical Center board, and chairs the steering committee of the St. Columba�s Counseling Center in Washington, DC |
