Steven G. Seleznow is a program director for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation�s Education initiative. He leads our education grantmaking for the western United States and Ohio.
Prior to joining the foundation, Seleznow served as partner and Chief Investment Officer at Venture Philanthropy Partners in Washington, D.C. He brings to the foundation nearly 30 years of leadership and management experience in public education, having led the Montgomery County, Md., Public Schools as deputy superintendent for education and the District of Columbia Public Schools as chief of staff and interim superintendent. Prior to these appointments, Seleznow was a teacher, an elementary and a secondary school principal, and he served in a wide range of district administrative and leadership roles. Seleznow was also associate research professor at the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
Seleznow earned a doctorate and master�s degree in administration, planning, and social policy from Harvard University, a master�s of arts degree from the University of Maryland, and is a graduate of Boston University. |
