Steve Stastny has extensive experience defending employers in all types of protected class and protected conduct discrimination, retaliation and harassment suits. He has litigated multi-plaintiff, collective and class action discrimination, retaliation and harassment suits for clients in the manufacturing, retail, health care and auto dealership sectors. He also has expertise in the arena of occupational safety and health which impacts certain ADA and workers' compensation retaliatory discharge suits. Steve is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, has been named an Alabama Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine and is AV� Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Steve is the Managing Partner of the firm's Birmingham office.
Prior to joining the firm, Steve practiced law in New Orleans for two years and later moved to Birmingham to practice law in a labor and employment boutique. He is licensed in both Alabama and Louisiana and is a member of the various federal courts in Alabama and Louisiana as well as the 5th and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
During law school, Steve served on the editorial board of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, was appointed a Senior Teaching Fellow, and was twice awarded the American Jurisprudence Prize.
