Stuart M. Maples is an attorney practicing as a partner in the law firm of Johnston, Moore, Maples & Thompson. Mr. Maples has practiced law for approximately 17-1/2 years, and focuses his practice upon creditor�s rights, bankruptcy reorganization, business litigation and general commercial practice. Mr. Maples has represented a broad range of parties, including business borrowers/debtors, banks, and other secured creditors, creditors committees, and other individual unsecured creditors in all bankruptcy courts throughout Alabama, as well as many other jurisdictions throughout the country. He has also assisted a broad range of plaintiffs and defendants from many varying industries/occupations in state and federal court as well as negotiations, mediation, and arbitration. Mr. Maples is also a Past President of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar.
A native of Huntsville, Stuart is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Alabama and a 1986 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. While he was attending the University Law School, he was on Associate Editor of the Alabama Law Review, was selected as a Hugo Black Scholar, and upon graduation, was selected for Order of the Coif.
Stuart currently serves on several boards in Huntsville, including the Huntsville-Madison County Mental Health Center, and the Madison Advisory Board for First Commercial Bank. He is also a member of the local Rotary Club. |
