Tony Chen serves as the Senior Manager, Business Development for CoolEarth Solar. Previous to joining Cool Earth Solar, Mr. Chen developed experience with renewable energy as the interim Chief Financial Officer of Hyphase Energy which focuses on improved hydrogen fuel cell design. Mr. Chen has served in senior market development and business development roles with information technology firms such as Sun Microsystems, Soltima, OpenConnect Systems, USA eConnect, and Asiasoft Systems. Early in his career, Mr. Chen developed strong entrepreneurial experience, founding Asiasoft Systems in Hong Kong in 1993 to provide customized document management, and workflow consulting. Mr. Chen also served as the Director of Business Development at the Nokia funded start-up Soltima which focused on building and monetizing user content profiles for wireless and internet users. With OpenConnect Systems, Mr. Chen opened the first Asian office and built a channel of value-added resellers across nine Asian countries. Mr. Chen holds an MBA degree from UC Berkeley�s Haas School of Business and a BS from Carnegie Mellon University in applied mathematics with a concentration in operations research. He is a member of the Berkeley Energy Resources Collaborative and enjoys volunteering with the non-profit Grid Alternatives to install solar panels on low income housing. |
